Mr. Walsh has been awarded various honors and recognitions over his years at the bar, particularly in the field of Labor and Employment Law and in the field of Litigation. Mr. Walsh has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” for many years in the field of employment and labor law. He has lectured for Cornell University, Albany Law School and the New York State Bar Association in the field of Labor Law and Trial Law and was an expert commentator in the field of labor law for WRGB, Channel 6 News. He has argued various precedent setting Labor Law Decisions in both the Court of Appeals and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, including many of the early decisions establishing the Taylor Law. Mr. Walsh’s experience also includes the handling of complex labor and employment litigation as well as age, disability, and sexual discrimination litigation.
In addition to these labor and employment law matters, Mr. Walsh has extensive experience in a wide variety of other fields, including business litigation, Civil Rights (where he has argued a successful case involving the U.S. Rugby Team, all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States) and defense representation to a corporation and its principal officers in the first criminal prosecution under newly enacted NYS Environmental Law felony statutes.
Mr. Walsh, who was for many years Chief Defense Counsel for the Grand Union Company in Upstate, New York, now, and for the last 20 years has devoted much of his practice to personal injury and Business Tort litigation. He has had several million dollar verdicts as a plaintiffs’ attorney as well as many settlements in the range. In the Business litigation field, Mr. Walsh and his partner, Paul Davenport, are currently involved in several litigations concerning shareholder disputes and business dissolutions.
