Gary L. Lombardi (1946-2011)

Gary L. Lombardi, a senior partner of Lombardi, Walsh, Wakeman, Harrison, Amodeo & Davenport, P.C., passed away on January 28, 2011, following nearly a 40-year law career with the firm. The firm was founded by Gary's father, Louis Lombardi, in 1956, and Lou was joined by his first partner, Ted Reinhard, in 1969. Gary started with the firm in the early 1970's following the completion of his studies at Siena College and Albany Law School.
Gary was a visionary and leader in expanding the firm, particularly in his areas of concentration of business transactional, corporate and estates and trusts matters, and transforming the firm from a small office in downtown Schenectady to a firm of 20+ attorneys and staff in Colonie.
While law was Gary's profession and passion, he often served as a tax advisor, strategic planner and most importantly, as a friend to his clients. He could often be heard greeting a client with "hello, my friend, come in," along with a touch on the client's shoulder and a warm smile.
Gary was highly regarded as an attorney who was known for his brilliance and wit. However, his genuine interest and care for his clients, along with the sustainment of long-standing relationships with his colleagues developed over years of earning their respect and affection may be the things that he will most be remembered for in the hearts and minds of his friends, clients and colleagues. |
